When taking pictures of food, you want to make sure that your audience can taste it with their eyes. Upper Crust Pizza in Tabernacle, New Jersey has awesome food.
Owner Robin Caterina offered me a slice of pizza the first time I sat down with her. I took one bite and I was singing.
…this was actual food going out to actual customers.
We are building a new website for Upper Crust and it will employ a lot of photography. Getting the food to look awesome was crucial. How did we take photos of this food to make it look as good as it tastes? Use good cameras, lenses, employ a couple strobes and get up close! We discovered that the closer we got to the food, the more appealing it was. Your instinct is to reach into the photograph and take your first bite. Oh, yeah…this was actual food going out to actual customers. Each dish made a quick pit-stop in front of our camera and lights for it’s moment in the spotlight before reaching the hungry customer. We can’t wait to show you how we used all these photos when we launch their new site. Stay tuned!
